acumen53 Takes Top Spot at Full Tilt Poker Sunday $750k

Full Tilt Poker hasn't had much of a problem making its $750,000 Guarantee each Sunday. However, this week 3,551 people paid to play in the event. They generated a prize pool of just $710,200. As a result FTP had to pay out nearly $40,000.

As the final table got underway, only eight players sat down. The ninth was ousted in a double elimination hand just prior to the start of the action. Lee “acumen53” Childs, who finished seventh at the 2007 WSOP Main Event, drew first blood, KO'ing skalpell. He then kicked DMZ99 to the curb in seventh position and Micro-Xtreme in fourth place.

It was no surprise, therefore, when Childs, a resident of Reston, VA, entered the heads-up match-up in good shape. He and his opponent LasloEsq traded chips back and forth for about 20 minutes. At that point, Childs moved into first place. On the final hand, he hit trip sevens on the flop, sending LasloEsq back from whence he came.

These are the final results:

1) acumen53 - $132,788 2) LasloEsq - $80,250 3) THEPUSHER1186 - $52,500 4) Micro-Xtreme - $41,400 5) Plz_Stop_Lookin - $31,050 6) shuriken555 - $23,025 7) DMZ99 - $17,250 8) Skalpell - $13,500 9) macadamion - $10,050
