Poker Stars Sunday Results – 8.19.07

This weekend something strange happened at PokerStars . This was the first week in a long time that Sorel Mizzi didn't win the High Stakes Showdown. An even bigger name took that event down. Poker Stars pro, Barry Greenstein, aka The Robin Hood of Poker, a talented high stakes player, was the top finisher. He earned $25,000. There's no word as to whether the charitable bloke will give the money away to one of the many foundations he works with.
As for the Sunday Warm-Up, thechemist83 won $79,853.40. He bested a global final table which included players from the United States , Canada , the United Kingdom , Sweden and Denmark . Here are the results for that event:

The Sunday Million put up big numbers again. There were 6,459 players in the game, generating a nice prize pool of $1,291,800. JC “PrtyPsux” Alvarado made the final table. The online turned live pro has been putting up some big results on the net in the past few weeks such as a fourth-place finish in FTOPS V, Event #6, for a cool $72,138. However, the chip lead – and the championship – belonged to hockeystud94.
The big story going in was that the short stack, Dunk_17 went from worst to first in chips within the first ten minutes of the final table. He doubled through different players twice to accomplish the feat. The second double up knocked sharp right out of the competition in ninth place.
PrtyPsux then hit the rails. He went all-in with a K,10. ArbahChamesh called from the big blind with an Ah,Kh. The flop brought a king. PrtyPsux then begged the poker gods to send him a 10, which he got on the turn. However, what the poker gods gave on the turn they took away with an ace on the river, giving Arbah a better two pair. At least he had Arbah covered. However, the newly-crippled PrtyPsux, would hit the rails in eighth place with $12,918 to show for his efforts after dueling with hockeystud94 a few hands later.
jeanette_33 then claimed the next victim. Her A,K hit top pair on the flop, crushing ZillaalliZ1's pair of treys. Unfortunately, the glory of the KO would be short lived as jeannette's tournament life was snuffed out on the very next hand against hockeystud's flush on the river.
hockeystud would then eliminate the next two players, ArbahChamesh and SevenToes within minutes of each other. By the time three-handed play began, hockeystud has quite the commanding chip lead. Dunk_17 would make quick work of wwwBTHEREcom, bringing his chip stack up to 26 mil. hockey still had the lead, however, with about 40 mil. At this point, the two talked chop. They agreed that hockey would take down $136,00. Dunk was guaranteed at least $116,516 with $30,000 left for the winner, per PokerStars' rules.
20 minutes later, the final hand came down. hockeystud raised 1.5 mil preflop. With the big blind at 500k, Dunk called. The flop was 9d,8s,2d. Each of the finalists checked. The turn brought a six of hearts. Dunk checked again. hockeystud bet 2 mil. Dunk check-raised 5.5 mil. hockeystud went over the top for all of Dunk's chips. Dunk, of course, called and showed his Jc,9s. He was ahead with top pair against hockey's Q,10 and gutshot straight draw. That is until the river brought a jack and filled in the gutshot.
