Markus Gonsalves Wins Ultimate Bet Sunday $200,000 on June 1, 2008
Ultimate Bet put up big numbers on Sunday June 1, 2008. 967 people paid to play in the tournament. This is an increase from last week's 775 entrants. The site still had to pay out a bit of cash to meet the $200,000 Guarantee. The final table at this event was another who's who of internet luminaries including sideshowbobbbb, who finished eighth in this event last week, and Zach “CrazyZachary” Clark. Clark has cashed all over the net and racked up more than $670,000 in lifetime online earnings.
However, the night and the title belonged to Markus “LURPED” Gonsalves, a young resident of San Diego, California. Gonsalves made it to the final table of the EPT Scandinavia Event in January of 2006 and cashed at the WSOP Main Event last summer.
