Isaac Baron Wins the First Event at the FTOPS VIII
4,158 players took to the virtual felt on Wednesday to kick off the Full Tilt Online Poker Series' eighth installment in style. They shattered the $750,000 prize pool in the $200 buy-in short-handed NLHE tournament (6 players max per table). A total of $831,600 was up for grabs.
David Chiu, FTP pro and the recent winner of the WPT championship, hosted the event. Unfortunately he made an early exit (2,596th place). John D'Agostino made it into the top 100. His 97th place finish was good for $848. The distinction of being the top Full Tilt finisher, however, went to Scott Fischman. His 18th place finish netted him $4,781.70.
In the end, Isaac “guru11” Baron took the FTOPS title, the top spot and the nearly $160,000 that was up for grabs for the champion.
