AawwNuts Defeats dipthr0ng at Ultimate Bet on Sunday June 8, 2008
Ultimate Bet put up some disappointing numbers online this weekend. A mere 882 players paid to play in the Sunday $200,000. This was down more than 70 entries from just a week ago. Therefore, the site that's home to 11-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth had to pay $23,600 to meet that guarantee.
Making the final table was Brian “WarrickDunn28” Hawkins. Hawkins is perhaps better known as SNo0oWMAN. The winner of the Poker Stars Sunday Million on January 27, 2008 finished in third place, several positions higher than his previous finish (8th place on March 2, 2008) in this tournament.
Upon SNo0oWMAN's departure, dipthr0ng (Mark Herm) and Allen “AawwwNuts” Carter faced each other in heads-up combat. AawwwNuts, who took ninth position in this tourney on 2.3.08, claimed the championship and the $45,000 first place prize.
