Townsend, Castoire and Force Win Big in Tunica
Event #12 at the WSOPC Tunica was played on Saturday, January 12, 2008. 380 people paid to play in the $700 NLHE tournament. 36 people partook of the tasty $256,120 prize pool including Wade Townsend, the champ.

Lynn Achey of Sheldon, MO emerged victorious in the $500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament at the Grand Casino Tunica on January 13, 2008. Achey beat out 460 other folks to take the title and the lion's share of the $221,280 prize pool.

In Event #11 at the WSOPC Tunica, Robert Castoire took second place, winning nearly $40,000. He followed that up with a strong finish in Event #12 (24th position). However, the Kentucky resident won his first circuit championship on the 15th of January, taking down the $1,000 NLHE tournament. He defeated 130 other players en route to the title.

303 people took to the felt for Event #15 at the Grand Casino in Tunica this past week. They each put up their $500, driving up the prize pool to an impressive $145,440. 36 players cashed in the tournament including Charles Williams of Reno, NV. Williams earned more than $43,000 for his first place finish.

Event #16 was a Pot Limit Omaha festival with rebuys. 51 players paid their $1,000 to play in the event. A total of 88 rebuys were made during the rebuy period generating a prize pool of $134,575. Five players made bank in the event.

Leo Whitt of Louisville, KY took the top spot at the World Series of Poker Circuit tournament. The $500 Limit Hold'em spectacular had 120 entrants and a total prize pool of $57,600.

The $1,500 NLHE tournament was the last event prior to the beginning of the Main Event at Tunica. A total of 215 people paid to play in the tournament including John Racener. Racener, who is also playing at the WPT event in Robsinsville, MS across the way, has a WSOPC championship under his belt. The 22 year old from Port Richey, Florida took down the Main Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit – Harrah's Atlantic City on December 18, 2007. In Event #18, he finished second, adding an additional $50,000 to his lifetime tournament earnings.
Jae Chang of Round Rock, TX won the event and more than $96,000 for his efforts.
