The Borgata Winter Open Schedule of Events
The World Poker Tour pulled into the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Tuesday, January 15th and is not expected to leave 'til the 31st of the month. A total of sixteen events will be held at the casino including the WPT Main Event.
The name of the game at the Borgata is Texas Hold'em. No other games will be spread throughout the championship series which is expected to draw in thousands. Highlights of the series include a Ladies NLHE Championship on the 20th and an NLHE Shootout on the 21st.
Of course, the main attraction is the World Poker Tour's Main Event. The $10,000 buy-in is slated to begin on Sunday January 27th. Last year's winner, John Hennigan, is expected to defend his title. In 2007, the professional poker player had his biggest payday to date, earning more than $1.6 million in the tournament.
