Scott Seiver Takes Down Event #21 at the 2008 World Series of Poker

731 people plunked down their $5,000 to play in the 21st Event at the 2008 WSOP. The total prize pool in this NLHE competition was $3,435,700. Some familiar names made bank in the event including the 2007 WSOPE Main Event runner-up John Tabatabai, Anna “Poker Pixie” Wroblewski, Noah Boeken, and Kathy Liebert. Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, narrowly missed his second final table of the series. He took eleventh place in this event, earning $42,946 for his efforts.

As the final table got underway, online specialist Scott Seiver had a commanding chip lead with more than 1.5 million sitting in his stack. On the second hand of play, he crushed Scott “SCTrojans” Freeman, another well-known internet player, eliminating him from the competition. Seiver would then take out three other players from the final table to face David Seidman in heads-up play.

On the final hand, Seiver, who has cashed a total of six times at the WSOP – three of those have occurred in 2008 alone, made a pair of nines on the flop and never looked back. He claimed his first bracelet and more than $755,000 in cash.

Here are the results:

1) Scott Seiver - $755,891 2) David Seidman - $482,372 3) Ben Sprengers - $292,034 4) Jacobo Fernandez- $238,781 5) Rajesh Vohra - $195,834 6) Chuck Sklar - $154,606 7) Anders Henriksson - $120,249 8) Adam Geyer - $94,481 9) Scott Freeman - $68,714
