Party Poker Premier League III Goes Back to London Next Month
Andy Black took down the Party Poker Premier League last year, earning his first major title. This year, the event makes its return to London with a mighty big improvement. The buy-in is $75,000, which increases the prize pool by $350,000. Now the total up for grabs is $1.25 million.
Of course, the tournament will still be played in league format with entrants taking part in six preliminary heats and moving forward according to their point standings. Black, a Buddhist, has already committed to returning to defend his title, and quipped that he will be bringing a different “spirit” to the tournament. He is channeling “Conan the Barbarian.” (We do hope he's only joking!)
The remaining players will be unveiled at a later date. The series, which will be developed by Matchroom Sport, will be filmed for TV and air in the UK in 2009.
